I’m afraid we can’t seem to stop ourselves at this point. Although I have to admit, we haven’t actually tried.
But look – we do enjoy the finer things. Well, the kids do, anyway.

Just another Sunday afternoon at our house. Makes you want to move to Massachusetts, doesn’t it?
I was trying to figure out whether their chess pieces were carved out of radishes or something artsy.
Nope – it’s a very cheap plastic ‘learn to play chess’ set. Rowan and my nephew Declan (who are playing in the picture) never had any trouble learning chess, but I can’t seem to memorize the moves each piece can make, so I got myself this set. It’s got arrows on the pieces to show what you can do. What I’ve learned from this chess set is that even if the pieces are marked I don’t particularly like to play chess.
