If you were to plant asparagus today, you wouldn’t get to eat any until Spring of 2015.
Our first asparagus was planted in 2010, so we have to wait ’til next year to give it a try.
Luckily, our wait is not too painful thanks to the roadside stand down the street.
The best way to store asparagus is to treat them as you would cut flowers.
The best way to cook them is this:
Snap the ends off.
Heat your oven to 450.
Lay the asparagus on a baking sheet.
Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with lots of salt and pepper.
Pop them in the oven for 4-6 minutes. Once their color has brightened, they’re done.
